A financial expert as well as treasurer of a primary school asked us to make parent-school transactions easier. The result? School Cash Register: 2,600 connected schools, 1.2 million children and a total of 2.5 million hours gained that can now be devoted to teaching, instead of administrative hassle. From idea to realisation and successful takeover within 9 months.

How did we help Topicus?
Conceptingfase
We thoroughly examined the current way of collecting parental contributions, including the spreadsheets and other tools that schools used in doing so. In co-creation with our client, we further concretised the idea on this basis and developed it into initial sketches (so-called wireframes). From this, the concept behind School Cash Register emerged, a 'Tikkie for schools', which also provides insight into all cash flows at a glance.
Designfase
After working out the full set of screens in wireframes, our designers compiled a playful style guide and applied it to all the screens of the web application. These were then delivered in a clickable prototype for iterations with our client. With the resulting iterations, the application was optimised and handed over to our development team.
Developmentfase
Our development team handled the entire development of the application: from Front-end to Back-end and DevOps. The Front-end was developed in AngularJS, the Back-end in PHP-Laravel. In addition, links including Mollie, iDeal and MessageBird were integrated into a successful application. After the successful acquisition by Topicus, a link was also made with its internal tools Parro & Parnassys. We are still Topicus' partner for the further development of School Cash Register.
